iPhone 5 Will Use Nano-Sim Cards, Now Confirmed

Some rumors said that Apple would use special SIM cards in its next-generation iPhone, the one scheduled for release in fall.

The company didn't confirm, nor did it deny, but the folks at BGR claim to have it on good authority that it will, indeed, happen.

According to them, multiple sources said that Apple is supplying nano-SIM adapters to carrier partners, so that they may test how said cards work on their networks. Once they are proven viable, they will get the green light for mass production.

BGR made a point of mentioning AT&T as being among the clients.

This is just the latest hardware detail that came out. Previous reports revealed that the Apple iPhone 5 will possess NFC, 1 GB of RAM and 4G LTE broadband support, as well as a particularly thin display.
