HTC One X-install Android 4.1 CyanongenMod10 (CM10)




Finally CyanongenMod gets its updated version from CyanongenMod9 to CyanongenMod10 for most android device which is similar to android 4.1 jellybean style. In previous post we posted about cyanogenmod-10-cm10-rom-on-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830from XDA developer forum. Here is a tip to install CyanogenMod 10 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM for HTC One X which has now been released by tbalden member of XDA Developers forum. He developed this ROM for preview version of the CM10 Jelly Bean and some critical issues and some most essential functions not working in this preview and soon fix in your HTC One X. HTC One X is a most stylish and featured android smartphone released by HTC and is a best compete for samsung galaxy S3.

List of features not working after installing CyanogenMod 10 ROM for HTC One X

WiFi direct & Wi-Fi tethering

Volume adjustment while on a call, while it works while you are on speaker mode

MHL output is rotated incorrectly to portrait in horizontal mode

No FM radio application in ROM but Spirit FM works (Download from Google play store)

Slows USB data transfer between device and PC or laptop

Some paid application loses settings but recover backup with Titanium Backup and restore to internal memory.

Steps to follow before CM10 install:

Make sure your device already rooted and installed ClockWork Recovery

Use Nandroid APK and take complete data backup and Back up application that you have installed from google play store via AppBak apk and Back up Messages using SMS Backup and Restore Download

Use Sync option to save your contacts with gmail or import the contacts to the SD card as .vcf file format which later on you can export to restore the contacts.

Uninstall antivirus software from your HTC one X android mobile

Important! Minimum 60% of your Phone battery must be charged

Unlock the bootloader from your HTC One X and then root it. Ignore this step if your phone is already rooted.

Enable USB debugging mode (Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging)

Installing Steps:

Download the latest version of CM10 ROM for HTC One X from XDA developer page cm-10-20120728-p9-endeavoru.zip

Download the Google Apps Package for Free

Download Boot.img

Download Fastboot for Windows PC

Move all downloaded files of the CyanogenMod 10 ROM and the Google Apps Package or GAPPS into your phones SD card.
Extract Fastboot.zip file into your C drive i.e. C:\ and move the downloaded boot.img file into C:\Fastboot\ directory.

Switch off your phone and then enter into bootloader mode by holding the Volume Down button and pressing the Power button right after that. After that, just select Fastboot Mode from bootloader menu

Connect your phone with the computer using a data cable

Open Command Prompt or CMD window on your computer

Then type this command in CMD window cd c:\fastboot\

To make sure that your device is correctly connected with the computer, just type up this command in CMD fastboot devices.

Now again, type this command in CMD fastboot flash boot boot.img. The boot.img file will now be flashed on your device.

Disconnect your device from the computer once the boot.img file is completely installed on your phone.

Now press the Power button and then select HBOOT followed by Recovery on your device so as to boot into recovery mode.

In recovery mode select wipe data/Factory Reset option to reset your phone, and wipe the cache by choosing Advance and wipe dalvik cache

Now choose the .zip file of the CyanogenMod 10 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM from your SD card and then confirm the installation process by selecting Yes, Install____.zip.

Now again select Install Zip from SDCard > Choose ZIP from SDCard and flash the .zip file of the Google Apps Package from your phones SD card.

At last, select ++++ Go Back ++++ and then Reboot System and successfully installed updated CyanogenMod 10 Preview 9 ROM on HTC one X (4.1.1Echo/Games/Hotspot fixed)
