Sony Xperia J appeared for the first time more than two weeks ago, along with some specs sheet details. However, when it comes to availability and pricing options we're still in the dark.
Chinese site ePrice has just published a new photo of the alleged Sony Xperia J, and it appears that the phone will lack the usual Sony Ericsson liquid energy bubble on the back.
This makes sense as Sony already decided to drop everything that might tie it to the Sony Ericsson brand. The Xperia J is a mid-range smartphone, probably aimed at fahionistas.
Thanks to previous leaks we have a pretty good idea on what the Sony Xperia J has to offer. First of all this will be launched with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box.
Sony Xperia J is rumored to sport a pretty decent 4.0-inch capacitive touchscreen display that would support 480 x 854 pixels resolution. No other details on the screen surfaced yet, but we expect more info will emerge soon.
Furthermore, the smartphone will come with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and HD video recording.
The picture leaked via ePrice only shows that phone's back side, but previous photos that leaked online confirm the Xperia J also features a secondary front-facing camera for video calls, as well as three touch sensitive buttons below the screen.
This is clearly not a high-end device, which is why Sony decided to embed a 1 GHz single core processor (MSM7627A). Still, this is powerful enough to offer a smooth Android 4.0 ICS experience. We're still waiting for more details on the amount of storage and RAM.
Sony Xperia J is expected to be announced next month ahead of IFA 2012, which is set to take place between August 31 and September 5. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
