T-Mobile USA Launches New International Data Plan for Business Customers

Major carrier T-Mobile USA has just announced the upcoming availability of a new international data plan for business customers. The new plan is available starting August and is aimed at customers who travel abroad pretty often.

The new flat-rate T-Mobile Open Europe unlimited data feature for business customers makes T-Mobile’s new plan quite a good deal for business customers.

According to T-Mobile USA, the new plan is “designed to address the increasing demand for data, the costs associated with international data roaming, and businesses’ desire for more predictable costs.”

Customers who wish to take advantage of T-Mobile’s new offer will have to come up with $50/line per month. Dubbed ‘Open Europe,’ the new plan customers with unlimited data, including up to 500 MB full-speed data, within 28 European countries with no international roaming tolls.

However, customers who exceed the 500MB of mobile data included won’t be charged extra, instead they will be throttled down to lower speeds.

The only downside to T-Mobile’s new international plan might be the fact that some customers may want less data included and lower monthly fees. Obviously, this would mean they would be throttled down much faster, but some may prefer it that way.

On the other hand, ‘Open Europe’ plan is aimed at business customers who are likely to afford to pay $50 per month.

Keep in mind that for additional savings on international voice and data roaming in more than 200 countries, the carrier currently offers pay-per-use T-Mobile Global for Business plan for a monthly access fee of $9.99 per month per line.

Of the millions of international trips U.S. business travelers make each year, a significant portion are made to European countries. For these customers, our new T-Mobile Open Europe data feature dramatically reduces costly international data roaming tolls, controls the risk of data roaming ‘bill shock’, and provides data connectivity required to conduct business from London to Moscow – all for a predictable $50 monthly fee,” said Frank Sickinger, vice president, business sales at T-Mobile USA.
