Sony Xperia Neo L with Android 4.0 ICS Goes on Sale in China

Unveiled back in March, Sony Xperia neo L has just hit shelves in China. This is the first Sony Xperia smartphone to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich onboard.

According to the folks over at GSMInsider, the Xperia neo L can now be purchased in the Mainland for only 1699 Yuan (265 USD or 215 EUR) outright.

Although Sony Mobile confirmed plans to roll-out of the Xperia neo L globally, for the time being only Chinese customers will be able to grab this ICS-based smartphone for such an affordable price.

Aside from the fact that it’s being powered by one of the latest Android platform, Ice Cream Sandwich, the Xperia neo L is far from being impressive.

The smartphone is equipped with a standard 1 GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU and 512MB of RAM.

There is 1GB of internal memory, but only 300MB user available. However, users will be able to expand it further up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Design-wise, the device strongly resembles the original Xperia neo, hence the name. It has a large 4.0-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

On the back, the handset sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording.

On the connectivity front, Sony Xperia neo L does not disappoint. The phone offers quite a slew of options, including HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76 Mbps), as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and built-in GPS.

Last but not least, the smartphone drains energy from a 1500 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 575 hours of standby time (410 hours in 3G mode) or up to 8 hours of talk time (7 hours in 3G mode).
