The moment she started dating Kanye West, people wondered whether Kim Kardashian would ever be friends with Beyonce and Jay-Z. Now that they are, there's a lot of talk about the damage the association can do to the image of these two.
According to a new report in the latest print issue of The Enquirer (story via CB), Solange Knowles, Beyonce's sister, is worried that her image might stand to suffer a lot from her association with the most (in)famous of the Kardashians.
In fact, this is precisely what fans of the diva have been saying all along, as we also noted on a previous occasion.
The moment the first photos of the two together emerged online, a backlash started on Twitter, with fans pleading with Beyonce not to have her name in the same sentence as Kim's.
It would seem that Solange is of the same opinion.
“In Solange’s eyes, Beyonce is a stand-out star, a premier singer of our time, whereas Kim is just a reality TV star who only got famous after [her] tape was leaked,” a source says for the tab, adding that the aforementioned photos left Solange with “a sour taste in her mouth.”
“So she called Beyonce out on it, and they had a fight over Kim. It culminated with Beyonce telling Solange she can be friends with whomever she wants,” the spy says.
It could be just a coincidence but, shortly after the photos mentioned above emerged online on Twitter, and the backlash began, Beyonce did seem to distance herself from Kim to some extent.
At the BET Awards 2012, Kim attended as Kanye's date and, as we also pointed out at the time, sources told the tabs that Beyonce went out of her way to drive a barrier between them.
