RIM Launches BlackBerry Curve 9320 in Hong Kong

One of the cheapest BlackBerry 7 smartphones launched by Research In Motion (RIM), the Curve 9320 has just been released in Hong Kong.

Although the Canadian company did not unveil any details regarding the phone’s price tag, it did say customers can purchase the BlackBerry Curve 9320 from authorized retailers across the country.

Especially designed for emerging markets, BlackBerry Curve 9320 does not stand out when it comes to design.

The only difference between this one and any other traditional BlackBerry smartphone is the fact that it comes with a dedicated BBM key, allowing for quicker access to RIM’s messaging application.

Another strong point of the device is the fact that it runs RIM’s latest BlackBerry 7.1 operating system, instead of the old 7.0 platform.

Keep in mind that aside from the usual popular mobile social network such as Facebook and Twitter, users can enjoy access to locally popular social networks by downloading the Sina Weibo and Talkbox apps directly from the BlackBerry App World.

Social Feeds 2.0 is included as well, which enables users to post updates to multiple social applications at the same time and even capture updates from news sources, social apps and instant messaging apps.

BlackBerry Curve 9320 is a budget-friendly smartphone, so don’t expect any impressive features. The phone packs 512MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

There’s also a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.44-inch standard display that supports 320 x 240 pixels resolution. HSDPA and HSUPA is also included, along with full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

The new BlackBerry Curve 9320 is a great choice for socially-connected consumers in Hong Kong. This new smartphone is designed to make it extremely easy for customers to stay connected and ‘stop missing out’. We expect it will be popular in the youth segment,” said Urpo Karjalainen, regional managing director for Asia Pacific at Research In Motion.
