Kirstie Alley Sued for Lying About Her Weight Loss

A couple of years ago, after struggling to maintain a healthy weight for years on row, Kirstie Alley came out with her own weight loss program called Organic Liaison. She's now being sued by a California woman for making false claims about the program.

The official website of Organic Liaison also comes with a before and after picture of Kirstie, which makes it pretty clear that she lost the weight on the program.

Elsewhere on the same website, a note mentions she dropped about 100 pounds (45.3 kg) on it, which would mean it's quite effective in terms of shedding the extra weight.

However, a woman from California doesn't believe these claims, especially since she's already been on the program for a while and has failed to see results.

Consequently, she's taking Alley and her Organic Liaison to court for unspecified damages, for deceiving customers on purpose, TMZ has learned.

“Kirstie Alley is being sued for allegedly lying about how she dumped 100 lbs. The suit, obtained by TMZ, was filed by a California woman who claims Organic Liaison – the weight loss product Kirstie hocks online and on QVC – is not the reason Kirstie dramatically slimmed down,” the celebrity e-zine writes.

“Plaintiff Marina Abramyan – who used the product and filed the class action lawsuit – alleges Kirstie shed the lbs by dancing her [butt] off on Dancing with the Stars and eating an extremely low-calorie diet,” TMZ further notes.

Oppositely, Organic Liaison claims to be an organic blend of vitamin, fiber and other nutrients, whose efficiency is yet to be proven, as this review on MSN seems to indicate.

“As for Organic Liaison, Abramyan says it's bogus – just a bunch of calcium and fiber which is not a proven weight-loss product. Abramyan is suing for unspecified damages,” TMZ says.

As we also noted only a few days ago, whatever she did to shed so much weight is no longer working because Kirstie is believed to be gaining weight again.

Reports online claim that Jenny Craig – the same company that booted her when she failed to attain the target weight loss some years ago – would be willing to have her as spokesperson again, on the condition she no longer promoted Organic Liaison.

Naturally, chances of that happening are null.

As of now, Kirstie has not responded to the woman's claims that she lied about losing weight on her own program.
