HTC One S and One V Finally Arrives at Optus Australia

Australian carrier Optus has just added the HTC One S and One V phones to its Android portfolio. Although both devices can be had for free, customers are required to sign up for a long-term contract in order to be able to grab either of the two free of charge.

According to AusDroid, the One V goes for free with the $30 plan, while the One S is available with the same agreement but requires an additional $11 per month handset repayment.

In order to avoid this, customers who want to get HTC One S could opt for the $50 plan, which does not require any other additional fees or upfront amount.

Although the HTC One V arrived at Optus last week, it appears that HTC has asked the carrier to return the first stock due to an issue with this specific batch of smartphones.

No details on the handset maker’s decision to recall the HTC One V have been offered, but the carrier announced today that the new stock is not plagued by any issues and can go on sale starting today.

HTC One S and One V are among the first smartphones announced by the Taiwanese company in the One family.

Made official back in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, both devices are powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system integrated with HTC Sense 4.0 UI.

However, while the One S is equipped with the powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260A Snapdragon processor, the One V comes with a standard 1 GHz single-core processor.

It is also worth mentioning that the One V packs only 512MB of RAM, whereas the One S embeds 1GB of RAM. However, the former comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), while the latter lacks the option to add a memory card. Check it out here.
