Grid 2 Might Be Released This Year, Report Says

Codemasters is apparently already working hard on Grid 2, the sequel to the extremely popular racing simulator that appeared way back in 2008.

Grid (or Race Driver: Grid, as it was named in some countries) impressed a huge number of racing game fans with top-notch graphics, great mechanics and gameplay variety.

Since its release, however, Codemasters has opted to focus on all sorts of other projects, denying the existence of Grid 2.

Now, thanks to the latest issue of OXM, via CVG, it seems that the studio is actually working on a sequel to Grid, which is quite close to completion.

The magazine says that Codemasters will put the finishing touches on the game after it releases F1 2012 in September, so it’s quite possible that the game will arrive either in late 2012 or in early 2013.

As of yet, however, Codemasters hasn’t commented about the rumor.
