Borderlands 2 Takes About 60 Hours to Complete

Gearbox has made sure that Borderlands 2 is better than the first game in all areas and players who are interested in experiencing it all will need to spend close to 60 hours with the game.

Steve Gibson, who is the marketing vice president at Gearbox, told Gamerzines that, “What we like to think about it is, Borderlands is a hobby. Some guide guys just did a playthrough of Borderlands 2 and they reported back to us that it takes 58 hours to play through the campaign – and that’s just one playthrough with one character.”

The executive added, “We look at it as a hobby, and that isn’t even counting the new Badass Points system and how that’ll affect every character you do. We want it to feel like you get more for your money. We’re happy for people to pay their money once and feel that they get ongoing value.”

The entire Borderlands 2 experience is also replayable because the character system is designed to encourage the gamer to try out different builds and see how they fare against the various enemies.

The game introduces four new classes, all of them more eccentric than those seen in the previous game, and players will have a lot more options when it comes to customization of weapons and their own character.

The single player side of Borderlands 2 takes fans back to Pandora where a man called Handsome Jack and his private army are taking over the planet and killing the natives in order to re-create the planet as an industrial center.

A number of the characters from the first title will make appearances as NPCs.

Borderlands 2 will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on September 18 in North America and three days later in Europe.
