Windows Phone 8 Simulator Available in the Marketplace

Microsoft is gearing up for the release of Windows Phone 8, the next major flavor of its mobile operating system, sometime in October, but users can already get a taste of it today.

A new application made it to the Windows Phone Marketplace recently, nothing more than a Windows Phone 8 simulator for existing devices.

Through it, users will be able to easily apply the Windows Phone 8 looks on their handsets, a few months before the platform – and even the Windows Phone 7.8 update – hits shelves.

This application enables users to peek inside some of the main features of WP8’s homescreen, such as the option to resize tiles.

They can also make a better idea of how the upcoming WP7.8 update will look like on their handsets. Unfortunately, the software won’t work as a launcher, though it will pull app icons from the Marketplace, it seems.
