WWDC 2012 Sessions: Graphics, Media, and Games [Part 4]

At WWDC 2012, Apple promises to delve into over 100 technical sessions presented by its own engineers on a wide range of topics for developing, deploying and integrating the latest technologies in iOS and OS X.

Apple says the two operating systems combine an unprecedented array of technologies and tools that facilitate the development of “innovative graphical applications, engaging audio and video experiences, compelling games, and media-rich books.”

Developers attending the classes presented by Apple’s coding gurus will add to their baggage of knowledge new methods to extend the viewing experience of their apps with AirPlay, as well as learn how to use the Graphics tools in all new ways.

“Discover how to create top-notch books for iBooks,” the company says. “Dive into specialized frameworks such as OpenGL, OpenCL, OpenGL ES, GL Kit, Scene Kit, Core Animation, Core Graphics, and Core Image and learn to how to deliver rich 2D and 3D graphics, smooth animations, fast parallel computation, and stunning photo, video, and image effects.”

The AV Foundation APIs used for capturing, editing, playing, and streaming audio and video will also be a hot topic of discussion.

Developers will be compelled to “understand the key ingredients of the best games and learn about using Game Center to create an incredible gameplay experience.”

“Learn the best practices to streamline book creation and deliver the best experience for your content,” according to the Cupertino, California-based Apple Inc.

Apple confirmed earlier this year that it would hold its annual Worldwide Developers Conference June 11 through June 15 at San Francisco’s Moscone West. The banners are already hanging around the venue with just five days to go before Tim Cook and his fellow executives take the stage to unveil an all-new range of Macintosh computers, and likely other surprises as well.
