VTX3D PreOverclocked AMD Radeon HD 7870, HD 7850 and HD 7770 Video Cards

AMD video card manufacturing partner VTX3D has just launched a new series of pre-overclocked graphics cards based on the GCN architecture, on its official website. The cards come with significantly higher GPU frequencies compared with AMD’s reference designs.

We like the fact that VTX3D seems to be back in the good old ATi days as, once you enter their site, you’ll be bombarded with the classic ATi cartoon girls that are still wearing the ATi logo instead of AMD's.

The fastest card launched today is the HD7870 X-Edition that clocks at 1100MHz for core and 1225MHz for the memory speed.

That’s quite a bit higher than the standard 1000 MHz / 1200 MHz GPU/MEM speeds on the classic AMD Radeon HD 7870 video card.

The HD7850 X-Edition comes with two types of memory size, namely 1GB and 2GB of GDDR5, while the working frequencies are 860MHz / 1200MHz for core and memory, respectively, for both cards.

On the HD7850 X-Edition we don’t really see where the difference is when compared with the reference card.

The HD7770 X-Edition comes with 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1150MHz core speed and 1250MHz memory speed.

These frequencies are significantly higher than the reference design that features 1000 MHz for the GPU core and 1125 MHz for the graphics memory.

All three cards are part of the AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture and feature much improved GPU compute performance, and they support the OpenCL API.

VTX3D had not made available any pricing information at the time of writing.
