Google Confirms Chrome No. 1 Worldwide with 310 Million Users

Google I/O is a good a time as any for Google to boast about some figures. The Google+ numbers were interesting, at the very least because some stats were released for the same time, but there are a couple of other Google products with things to boast about.

Chrome for one, Google, for the first time, said that its internal data shows that Chrome is now the biggest browser in the world. Google said there are some 310 million monthly active users at this point. That's almost double the 160 million it announced last year.

It's important to note that Google is confirming StatCounter's metrics which also show Chrome as the most used browser in the world. Net Applications has a different point of view, unsurprisingly, one supported by Microsoft.

With Chrome the default browser on Android and now available on iOS devices, expect its dominance to increase in the years to come.
