Vanity Wonder, Beauty Addict, Warns of Dangers of Black Market Silicone Injections

If you see Vanity Wonder, it's almost impossible not to think she's had stuff done to enhance her natural curves. And it's true: she's spent $15,000 (€11,968.4) on injections for an ampler backside, and she got them all on the black market.

Wonder, who is also a mother of two, has a book coming out, “Shot Girls,” in which she documents her 5-year foray into the black market to get the derriere of her dreams, no matter the risks.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Vanity wonders out loud that she's still alive and, perhaps just as important, that she's still in one piece considering the first two times she got the shots she didn't even know what she was having injected.

The 30-year-old glamor girl, whose backside is now of considerable size, says she's not exactly thrilled by the results of all those years of work (and unknown substances being pumped in) but she's content with the way she looks.

Still, she wants to use her own experience to let other women know that going on the black market for these injections is very dangerous. Vanity might be one of the few lucky ones to get out alive but, at the same time, she's also determined not to have others die – not if there is something she can do about it.

“So many people tell so many lies about the women who get injections. It's such a secretive thing. I decided to tell people rather than letting them just guess,” Vanity tells the Mail.

The stories she tells are shocking, to say the least: women of all ages and all levels of education resort to this method of boosting whatever curves they were born with, and the trend isn't showing any signs of dying out anytime soon.

As with everything else, as long as there is demand, there will be people willing to cash in on their desperation – even if that means, as it's already happened, that people have to die or be deformed for life in the process.

“It's not what people think. There's no common reason... Some girls get it done only because everyone else is. There's a lot of reasons. It's not even because they didn't already have a [backside],” Vanity says, trying to explain the reasons that might convince a woman to put herself at risk like that.

“They look in the mirror and they don't like what they see. They want the image they see in the mirror to match the image they have of themselves in their head,” she adds.

Vanity also says that her wakeup call came when she almost landed in jail and she realized that, were something to happen to her, her kids would grow up without a mother.

“It's not that I feel happy, but I look in the mirror and I love who I am. I didn't go to jail, I have my arms and legs. I didn't die because of the dumb [expletive] that I did,” she says, after being injected with anything from “soybean oil” to medical grade silicone.

“I guess I do feel happy. I'm just so thankful that I'm here in one piece, and that I'm able to tell people to stop on this path, because somebody's going to die,” Vanity adds.
