Super 8 Hotels (China) Adopts Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Today, Microsoft announced a new customer for its SQL Server 2012 product, namely Super 8 Hotels (China) Co. Ltd, a partner of Super 8 Worldwide in China.

The company decided to adopt Microsoft’s product due to its powerful business analysis capabilities that it needs.

One of the largest operators of budget hotels around the globe, Super 8 Worldwide operates more than 2,300 hotels. Super 8 Hotels (China) has under its management over 500 opened and to-be-opened hotels in the country.

Through the deployment of SQL Server 2012 in China, Super 8 Hotels will benefit from management capabilities enabling it to analyze the performance of individual properties, as well as of its entire Chinese business.

Moreover, it would also be able to determine which would be the best growth opportunities in the country.

“Our rapid growth in China can be traced to the superior market and business insights we have gained from Microsoft SQL Server 2012,” said Joe Xu, senior vice president of distribution, Super 8 Hotels (China). “We can better determine our long-term development strategy.”

The deployment of SQL Server 2012 provided Super 8 Hotels (China) with a centralized information-sharing and business intelligence platform that would enable a better analysis of increasing customer and staff information.

The company plans on expanding to over 1,000 hotels in China, and it needed a platform that would provide it with lower costs and better availability, scalability and business insights for its environment.

Through Microsoft’s solution, it can save time and money, while also eliminating human error when collecting data.

Additionally, SQL Server 2012 can deliver the security enhancements and efficiency of a cloud-ready solution that the company needed to improve its management software, while enabling collaboration for making its business better.

“SQL Server 2012 offers several valuable features that help address the company’s concerns. For example, SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn helps ensure high availability of business systems,” Microsoft noted.

The company added that SQL Server 2012’s support of cloud computing allows the company to run databases either on-premises or in a cloud environment, so as to rally to changing business needs.

Through SQL Server Master Data Services, the company can “create, maintain, store and access the master data structure used for object mapping, data referencing and metadata management,” the Redmond-based software giant concluded.
