Nokia Lumia 610 Heading to Koodo Mobile

The cheapest Windows Phone device in the Lumia series is about to make its debut at Koodo Mobile. The Canadian carrier plans to offer the smartphone for about $200 CAD outright.

Although the operator has yet to make it official, the folks over at MobileSyrup  published a screenshot of an internal document, which confirms the upcoming release of the smartphone.

Unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the affordable Nokia Lumia 610 is less featured in comparison with the rest of Windows Phone devices launched by the Finnish company.

However, that doesn’t mean that the smartphone does not offer the same smooth Windows Phone experience.

The only drawback of the Lumia 610 is the fact that it comes with only 256MB of RAM, which makes it impossible to run some apps that require more RAM in order to function within the parameters.

Skype and Angry Birds are among the most popular Windows Phone apps that do not run smoothly on the Lumia 610, though Rovio confirmed it’s working on an Angry Birds game especially optimized for this budget-friendly smartphone.

Aside from the low amount of RAM, Nokia Lumia 610 is equipped with an 800 MHz single-core Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 200 graphics processing unit.

It is also worth mentioning Nokia Lumia 610 packs 8GB of internal memory and a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

Just like the Lumia 800 and 710, this one comes with a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection.

Last but not least, Nokia Lumia 610 is powered a 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 670 hours of standby time (720 hours in 3G mode) or up to 10.5 hours of talk time (9.5 hours in 3G mode).
