Infiltration and Espionage Are at the Core of Metal Gear Solid 5

Fans of the series might be getting ready to play as Raiden in the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, but it seems that they should also be ready to return to inhabiting the body of Solid Snake in the next full Metal Gear Solid title.

Speaking to the French IG Magazine, Hideo Kojima, the original creator of the two characters, has stated, “About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things: there will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you ‘a favour’ like in the last Metal Gear Solid.”

The legendary developer added, “I liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, but we will see. And if I say more, the female ninja public relations officer, who is behind the door, I will be carved up into pieces. So it’s better that we meet again when the time comes to talk about Metal Gear Solid 5.”

Kojima also told the French publication that Metal gear Solid 5 would use a new version of the FOX engine, upgrading the look of the title while offering more options when it comes to the stealth gameplay.

He has also clarified how Revengeance is linked to the core Metal Gear Solid universe, saying that the game was always just a spin-off and that Solid Snake still has many stories to tell despite the fact that he was inclined to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.

Publisher Konami has refused to offer any comment on the statements, which have been translated from French.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is at the moment set to arrive during the early months of 2013 on the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360.

It is being developed by Platinum Games and has an action focus, although Raiden will be able to stealthily take out some of his enemies.
