Samsung Omnia Minuet Up for Pre-Order in the UK for 250 GBP (390 USD/320 EUR)

Made official back in May, Samsung Omnia M is about to make its debut in the UK. Although the smartphone is already available in some European countries like Italy and Germany, Windows Phone fans living in other regions have been left out.

Fortunately, customers in the UK will be able to purchase the Samsung Omnia M, though the smartphone is expected to hit shelves on August 27.

Those who wish to make sure they get the device as soon as it becomes available can pre-order it via Unlocked-Mobiles for no less than 250 GBP (390 USD or 320 EUR) outright.

Keep in mind that the handset goes by the name Omnia Minuet in the UK, so look for this name when looking for this particular smartphone.

Unfortunately, it appears that this entry-level Windows Phone is a bit overpriced. Aside from that, we expect the first Windows Phone 8 devices to be announced in early September, a few weeks after Samsung Omnia M is expected to go on sale in the UK.

This will probably lower the phone’s desirability and make it a total fiasco in case Samsung won’t drop its suggested retail price consistently.

Samsung Omnia M is powered by Windows Phone Tango and packs a 1 GHz single-core processor, which is complemented by 384MB of RAM. There’s also 4GB of internal memory inside, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The only strong point of the Omnia M seems to be the 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

The phone comes with a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer. Last but not least, the Omnia M features all the necessary connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, HSDPA, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS support (Bing maps). Check it out here.
