Video game developer Konami has announced that it is setting up and recruiting for a new studio for the Pro Evolution Soccer football simulation series, which will be based in the United Kingdom.
Shinji Hirano, the president of Konami Digital Entertainment, added, “These are hugely exciting times for the PES series. We are looking for a number of creative people who can help us elevate PES to whole new levels. As part of KONAMI’s commitment to ensuring PES captures the majesty of European football, we are looking for people to help capture the very essence of the beautiful game and bring it to life. We look forward to meeting interested parties at GDC Europe.”
The studio will be based in London and will focus on Pro Evolution Soccer titles that are linked to PCs and high-end home consoles, but no clear projects have been announced.
This might mean that, even as the core team is working on PES 2013, the United Kingdom based studio has the freedom to focus on making sure that the game performs well on the next generation of hardware from Sony and Microsoft.
The PES series from Konami has been outshined by the FIFA franchise from EA Sports in the last few years and the team has assured fans that it will deliver a more lifelike experience.
PES 2013 will include more options for dribbling and better Artificial Intelligence when it comes both to attack and defense.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 will be launched on the 2nd of October on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PC.
