Motorola DEFY PRO Arriving in Brazil on July 15

Brazil’s first Motorola rugged Android smartphone to feature both QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen has just been confirmed for July 15. Motorola DEFY PRO is expected to hit shelves two weeks from now for a price that will be disclosed closer to launch.

The DEFY PRO is a rugged smartphone, so expect this one to feature a dust-proof and water-resistant body. Aside from that, the phone’s 2.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Given the fact that this is a mid-range smartphone, the DEFY PRO runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. In addition, the handset comes packed with various dashboards that greatly help users plan their steps every day.

For example, users can choose to set the DEFY PRO on Outdoor in order to check for the weather reports. With the Hiking View, users will be sure they will always make it back home.

There’s also a Workout View that monitors user’s health. It also has a stop watch so users can track certain distances while they jog.

The smartphone also comes pre-loaded with QuickOffice app, which allows users to view and edit documents. MotoPrint, email and VPN support are included as well.

Motorola DEFY PRO comes with a 2GB microSD memory card in the sales package, but users can further expand storage up to 32GB.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone provides access to more than 500,000 apps and games via Google Play store, formerly known as Android Market. No other detail on the phone’s specs has been unveiled for the moment, but stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

You’re constantly on the go, whether running to the office or running around town. Finally, there’s a smartphone designed to keep up with your work and personal life. Motorola DEFY PRO is ready for anything and will never let you down,” said Edson Bortolli, products director of Motorola Mobility Brazil.
