Miley Cyrus Gets New Tattoo: A Quote by President Roosevelt


Miley Cyrus loves tattoos so much it's almost impossible to keep track of them these days. Just the other day, she unveiled a new piece as she was leaving her daily Pilates class.

Click on the image above to see it: placed on her forearm, it's a quote from a famous speech by President Teddy Roosevelt, Us Weekly informs.

In the speech, held in Sorbonne, Paris in 1910, the President urged listeners to live life to the fullest, to enjoy everything it had to offer, the good and the bad together.

“So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat,” Miley's new tattoo reads.

Us Weekly also provides the context from where it was taken.

“It is not the critic who counts: not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done better,” Roosevelt said in his speech.

“The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood... who, at the best, knows... the triumph of high achievement, and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat,” he said.

Miley's tattoo collection also includes a dreamcatcher, the word “Breathe” under her breast, a heart, a cross, the “=” sign standing for marriage equality, and the word “Love” inside her ear, among others.

A report from February this year was saying that Liam Hemsworth, now her fiancé, was urging her to have her tattoos removed because he found them trashy, as we also informed you at the time.

Insiders also said that he wanted to have children with her and feared that their kids would get the wrong idea by seeing their mother so inked – and then asked for tattoos themselves.

Admittedly, she'd agreed to have them lasered off.

Clearly, there was no truth to that report.
