Google Confirms Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update for Carrier-Bounded Nexus S

The rollout of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has just started a few days ago and the search giant came forward with a short statement confirming the availability of the update for a number of carriers.

According to Google, the Jelly Bean update will be available to Nexus S on certain carriers around the world. Here is the company confirmation:

We’ve started rolling out Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, to Nexus S phones on a number of carriers including T-Mobile, H3G, O2, Rogers as well as Vodafone in most countries, with more to come. Enjoy!

There's no telling when exactly Google will update the list of carriers for Jelly Bean Nexus S rollout, but we expect the update to go live to all devices targeted by the end of the month.

Made official last month, Jelly Bean is the fastest and smoothest Android platform available on the market, claims Google.

The new operating system is said to improve on the previous version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and brings a new Google search experience on Android devices.

With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the device will be even more responsive as the platform boosts the phone's processor the moment the user touches the screen. In order to save battery life, Jelly Bean turns down CPU's power.

There's also a much better keyboard, while the Android's dictionaries are now more accurate and relevant. According to Google, the language model in this version of Android adapts over time, so the keyboard will be able to guess what the next word is before the users starts typing.

A new features called Google Now, which offers users various information, such as weather, how much traffic to expect before leaving for work, or even when the next train will arrive. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
