Electronic Sports World Cup Finals Take Place in Paris


The organizer of the Electronic Sports World Cup has revealed that it will be organizing the Internal Grand Final of this year’s competition in Paris, France between November 1 and 4, after a number of qualification contests that will happen starting with July.

The video games that have been chosen to be a part of the Electronic Sports World Cup include:

â€" Starcraft 2 from Blizzard, for one versus one games on the PC, real time strategy;
â€" DOTA 2 from Valve Software, for five versus five matches, MOBA;
â€" ShootMania Storm from Nadeo and Ubisoft, for three versus three battles on the PC, a multiplayer shooter;
â€" TrackMania Nations also from Nadeo and Ubisoft, for one versus three racing;
â€" FIFA 13 from EA Sports, one versus one football simulation on home consoles;
â€" Tekken Tag Tournament 2 from Namco Bandai, one versus one on home consoles, fighting.

The official games are not the only ones to be part of the Paris-based finals and gamers will also be able to take part in competitions featuring:

â€" Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from Valve Software, for international teams interested in first person shooters;
â€" Trackmania Canyon from Nadeo and Ubisoft, players looking for a racing game;
â€" League of Legends from Riot Games, for local teams interested in the MOBA genre;
â€" Tekken Tag Tournament 2 from Namco Bandai, also for local teams in two versus two team matches.

The organizers say that they might also add more competitions before the finals actually take place in early November.

Preliminary qualification phases will be organized starting with this month in each country interested in sending teams to Paris.

In 2011 the Electronic Sports World Cup has managed to attract 150,000 visitors while another 2 million people watched the various matches via the Internet.

Gamers will have even more options to watch the event in 2012.
