Cheap GFive Android Smartphones Get Launched in India


It looks like Chinese handset manufacturer are interested in Indian smartphone market as well. Aside Huawei and ZTE brands, a smaller company that goes by the name of G’Five plans to conquer the Indian low-end smartphone market.

In this regard, G’Five recently launched five new Android phones, which will be available in India for prices starting at Rs 7,000 (130 USD or 105 EUR) outright.

The cheapest is dubbed G’Five A79 and comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system onboard. The smartphone is equipped with an 832 MHz BCM21552 single-core processor, a 4-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display (320 x 480 pixels) and a 5-megapixel rear camera.

G’Five is expected to go on sale in India for Rs 6,999 (130 USD or 105 EUR) outright. Customers will be able to pick this one at all leading retailers across the country.

Next in line is the G’Five A86, which is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform and packs a 1 GHz single-core CPU. This handset boasts an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back and a VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

There’s also a 4.0-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display (480 x 480 pixels), 3G and A-GPS support, as well as a large capacity 2,800 mAh Li-Ion battery. The A86 will be available for purchase for only Rs 7,999 (145 USD or 120 EUR) off-contract.

G’Five I88+ is an ICS-based smartphone that sports a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen (480 x 480 pixels) and an 8-megapixel rear camera.

The device is equipped with a 1 GHz MTK6575 dual-core (?) processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. This one will hit shelves for a suggested retail price of Rs 8,999 (165 USD or 135 EUR).

The G95 is another affordable smartphone that runs Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The handset packs the same 1 GHz MTK6575 dual-core (?) processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

The G’Five G95 features an 8-megapixel main camera, WCDMA support and a 2,800 mAh Li-Ion battery. The smartphone is priced at Rs 9,499 (170 USD or 140 EUR).

Last but not least, the G’Five G3D is the most rich-featured of the five. The smartphone comes with a 4.3-inch glass-free 3D capacitive touchscreen display, an 8-megapixel rear camera and HDMI port.

In addition, the handset is equipped with a 1 GHz MTK6575 dual-core (?) CPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and 2,800 mAh Li-Ion battery. WCDMA support is included as well. G’Five G3D is available for purchase for Rs 11,799 (215 USD or 175 EUR).
