ASUS Launches EeeBox EB1030, EB1031 and EB1033 Nettops

Nettops might not be best-sellers, but they have a dedicated fan base, so we aren't too shocked to learn that ASUS has a few more of them up for order.

At least, we suspect they are already up for order. The official website has the product pages up and running (for the most part), but it ultimately depends on customer location and local retailers.

Regardless, we will list the relevant specs here, starting with the names: EeeBox EB1030, EB1031 and EB1033.

The EeeBox EB1030 is, shall we say, the model on which the other two are based. It relies on an Intel Atom Cedar Trail processor, specifically the D5520 dual-core, whose clock speed is 1.86 GHz.

1 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) backs it up, unless buyers have no problem paying a bit more and pushing the capacity to 4 GB. Meanwhile, a hard disk provides 320 GB of storage space (upgraded to 500 GB or switched for a 32 GB SSD).

That said, ASUS threw in Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, 5.1-channel audio over SPDIF and two display outputs (D-Sub and HDMI).

All the above are crammed in a black enclosure measuring 219 x 172.5 x 29 mm (8.62 x 6.77 x 1.14 inches) and weighing 690 grams (1.52 pounds). That's right, this computer has a volume of only 1 liter.

The starting price is of 296 Euro, which corresponds to $372, give or take, according to exchange rates. More information is found on the product page.

And now we arrive at the other two nettops, which are almost identical to the EB1030 but have a different processor and, in the case of the stronger version, add-in graphics.

The EB1031 name goes to the nettop with an Atom D2700 processor (dual-core at 2.13GHz), while EB1033 has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 610M graphics card to boot. The prices weren't listed anywhere that we could find, but they shouldn't be too high compared to the base one.
