Visual Studio 2012 with Support for Strong Cloud App Development

One of the strong points in Microsoft's server strategy moving forth includes the availability of new, modern applications for its customers and for their users.

Thus, the company is bringing together Visual Studio and System Center, to help developers come up with new, better apps. Moreover, the company notes that developers and applications represent the very same team.

Today's users are looking to get applications that are personal and which also allow them to stay social, while offering them access to the data they require.

Given the fact that Windows Azure is based on Windows, it is possible to build software that does that, capable of easily meeting the specific requirements that users have.

In fact, developers can come up with apps that can work on multiple devices, especially if they build them using web standards.

Microsoft is bringing Visual Studio close to Windows Azure to allow fast deployment of applications that can target multiple devices at the same time.

In fact, Scott Guthrie, Corporate Vice President, Server and Tools Business Division, demoed on stage at TechEd EMEA 2012 how this can be done with the use of Team Foundation Service.

One could easily come up with a website, use Team Foundation to get the app published on the website, and have Visual Studio compile the software.

The app can also be easily modified through the use of simple lines of code in Visual Studio, while the fact that it has been designed as a web app allows users to run it on mobile OSes as well.

Moreover, Jason Zander, Corporate Vice President, Visual Studio, explains that the upgraded tools enable developers to build applications that are connected among them.

Furthermore, VIsual Sutdio can deliver more features to those who want to target cloud OSes. These apps can easily pull data from different locations, can sync with SharePoint, and more.

In addition, due to the included LightSwitch, Visual Studio offers support for the development of applications that can take advantage of HTML5, and which can be designed to be easily fitted for mobile phone or tablet screens.

Also, Microsoft is making sure that hardware and software will work together just fine. In fact, the latest features in the developer tools ensure that operation and engineering teams can work together in resolving issues that apps might have.
