Verizon Cuts the Online Price of Galaxy Nexus to $149.99

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless has just cut the price tag for its Galaxy Nexus smartphone down to $149.99 for online purchasers.

Previously available for $199.99 with the signing of a two-year contract agreement at Verizon, the handset is now $50 cheaper if purchased through the carrier's website, though it can be found for less via third-party retailers.

Galaxy Nexus was made official in fall last year, and landed on Verizon’s network in December, which makes it only half a year old.

However, given the fact that the wireless carrier is gearing up for the release of Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone, it was only a matter of time before older devices started to register price cuts.

Although cheaper now, the Galaxy Nexus will continue to provide users with the same features and capabilities that it did before.

Thus, users will enjoy the performance of a dual-core 1.2 GHz application processor, which is complemented by 1 GB of RAM.

The handset will also offer great viewing capabilities on its 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, as well as enhanced imaging capabilities through a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a front camera for video calling.

At Verizon, the handset features support for the carrier’s 4G LTE network, while also featuring WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and GPS receiver. The smartphone runs under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
