Valve has finally kicked off the next update for its Team Fortress 2 online shooter – in the form of the Pyromania one – which will culminate with the release of the last “Meet the” short film, focusing on The Pyro character.
After many themed patches and plenty of short films that introduced the various characters, the last remaining one - The Pyro – is finally spending some time in the spotlight thanks to the current Pyromania update.
The update spans three days and will culminate with the release of the Meet the Pyro short film.
Until then, the first day has brought forth a brand new map and a game mode called Doomsday, which delivers a completely new and, as always, hilarious experience.
“Doomsday pits BLU against RED, with only one team getting the honor of transporting a suitcase nuke full of recalled Mann Co. Australium to American monkeynaut Poopy Joe’s rocket, so he can blast off and hunt down Soviet space chimp Vladimir Bananas,” Valve said about the update.
“It's the same spirit of competitive enterprise that stalled the moon landing by three years when Buzz Aldrin suplexed Neil Armstrong into a pile of folding chairs at Astromania '69! Both teams will attempt to get the necessary fuel up a preposterously slow-moving elevator and into Poopy Joe’s Australium-powered rocket to the stars.”
Days 2 and 3 will witness the release of other new things and on Wednesday, the Meet the Pyro film will finally be unveiled to the world.
Until then, have fun experiencing the new Doomsday map and game mode for Team Fortress 2.
