Sony Mobile’s teaser published yesterday on the company’s Facebook page pointed to one or more upcoming Xperia devices. Fans of the brand were invited to fast forward the time of the official announcement, which was initially slated for a June 22 release.
To our disappointment, Sony unveiled another mid-budget smartphone, which is called Xperia miro. The only strong point of the handset seems to be the fact that it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box.
However, by the time the Xperia miro goes on sale Android 4.0 ICS won’t be such an attractive selling point anymore, especially that multiple brands plan to launch affordable ICS-based smartphones in the following months.
In this regard, Sony confirmed the smartphone would come with Xperia with Facebook app, which allows users to like, comment and share quickly and easy directly from their phone. Moreover, the Xperia miro features unique illuminations for incoming messages and social updates.

In addition, the smartphone features DLNA contactless connectivity, allowing for easily view content on TV, tablet and PC. The device is powered by a large battery for longer usage, though Sony has yet to rate it.
There’s also a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display and xLOUD audio technology for crisp and loud sound. Last but not least, Xperia miro will be available in four color options: black, black and pink, white, as well as white and gold.
