Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 Officially Released

Red Hat Enterprise Linux, a scalable data center platform accommodating enterprise workloads in physical, virtual, and cloud IT environments, is now at version 6.3.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3 is considered by the company to be just a minor release. Nonetheless, it has some important features, such as the new OpenJDK7 that allows customers to develop and test with the latest version of open source Java, smooth migration to a virtualized environment, and two-factor authentication for securely accessing the Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.

The new version from Red Hat is also extremely scalable by increasing the maximum number of virtual CPUs (vCPUs) per guest to 160 from 64. It includes O_DIRECT support in FUSE, support for RAID levels 4, 5, and provides users with access to Red Hat Subscription Management (SAM), an enhanced subscription management capability using X.509 certificates
