Instagram for Android Adds Facebook Likes, Explore Tab

Instagram hasn't been around for long on Android, but it helped it gain millions of new users within days. While iPhone users are still the main target, Android users are not getting left behind. The latest Instagram app has landed on Android as well.

Instagram 1.1.4 for Android introduces the new custom Facebook Like buttons the social network showcased not long ago.

These buttons allow developers to create a custom "like" button that fits in with the rest of the app but is linked to the "like" functionality on Facebook.

Unlike the standard Like button, this functionality has to be approved by the user, i.e. the app has to get permissions. To enable the feature in Instagram, go to Profile > Settings > Sharing settings > Facebook.

Also new in the latest Instagram is the Explore tab, which replaces the current Popular one. You can use it to search for other users or find out what's hot on Instagram.
