Hackers Around the World: King Neco of Moroccan Ghosts

Hackers around the world continues with a visit to a country from Africa, more precisely Morocco.

Here we’ve found a group of hacktivists that has been causing waves all over the continent and not only. One of the members of Moroccan Ghosts has agreed to have a chat with us to detail not only their objectives, but also his beginnings as a hacker.

Softpedia: Please introduce yourself for our readers.

King Neco: I’m King Neco. I’m from Morocco and I’m a 17 years old hacker.

Softpedia: What is the significance of the hacker name?

King Neco: King Neco is a name which was given by my best friend who died 2 years ago. Neco is the kind of motorcycle I was always driving all the time.

Softpedia: Talk about your hacking group, Moroccan Ghosts.

King Neco: Moroccan Ghosts is a group of hackers in which each of the members has a specific objective. We are many and we are from all from Morocco. This group was founded in 2012 .

Softpedia:  What are your objectives? What are your team's objectives?

King Neco: My objectives is defending my country and protect it from our enemies. I’m a white hacker, almost. My team’s objectives are clear and the same as mine: defending our country and protect our country from our enemies.

Also, the affirmation of our territorial unity.

Softpedia: You have hacked the government websites of many countries. Why?

King Neco: Yes, we have defaced and hacked many websites from specific countries, but some newspaper said that we don’t have specific objectives.

Moroccan websites have been defaced by us. We did take specific countries as a target because there ones of countries who think of us as being dummies and they don’t believe in the existence of the Polizario terrorists.

Again, our objectives are:
Defending Our Homeland Morocco;
Defending Our King Mohammed VI;
Defending the Sahara Of Morocco and make a limit of the fake and the random terrorists organization “Polisario” and the only thing which units us: God, Homeland, King;
Defending Palestine and Jerusalem “al Qods”.

Softpedia: What inspired you personally to become a hacker?

King Neco: I started hacking because I was inspired by a group of hackers who drew a road and a target. The thing which made me become a hacker in the first place is the spirit of patriotism, the spirit of being one of a real Moroccan citizen.

Softpedia: How did you learn to hack websites?

King Neco: I have learned about hacking by searching. From my friends I learned to avoid mistakes and avoid the mysterious sources that I was having real problems with.

Softpedia: Share some stories with our readers from when you first started hacking.

King Neco: When I first started hacking there were some unknown and dangerous resources to learn hacking from. There were some infected programs and viruses and as a result there were casualties. LOL, 3 of my computers I threw in the trash.

Also, my first target website was an Israeli website. I hacked it without any security or changing the IP or The proxy. I was afraid to get caught at that time because I was little, but I’m happy that I did that thing and I’m proud of myself, but not till the vanity. 

Softpedia: How are cyber laws in Morocco? Are there laws against hacking?

King Neco: Cyber laws In Morocco are tough. And yes, of course there is cyber laws against hacking here. There are penalties and jail also. Penalties I think are from 5,707 dollars to 10,000 dollars, and from 2 to 5 years in the PRISON.

Softpedia: Are you afraid of getting caught by the police?

King Neco: No, I’m not afraid of getting caught by the police. I’m protecting my country and if they want to accept it they are welcome but if they don’t want to, it will not make me stop hacking.

I’m a hacker and I will be a hacker till I die. And I follow the items set forth in the Constitution. Chapter 38 of the Constitution: the new Moroccan contributes to all the citizens in the defense of the nation and its territorial integrity against any aggression or threat.

Softpedia: Do you ever see yourself giving up hacktivism and becoming a security researcher?

King Neco: Maybe yes. I want to be a security researcher and I see that as my career, but I will not give up hacktivism. Why? It’s one of my principles and my responsibilities.
