Motorola RAZR HD and RAZR M Exclusively Available in Australia via Telstra

Major carrier Telstra announced several days ago the upcoming availability of Samsung Galaxy S III 4G in Australia.

While Samsung’s flagship smartphone will go on sale starting October 9, the operator has just confirmed that two more Android devices will be available for purchase soon, Motorola RAZR HD and RAZR M.

In fact, the folks over at AusDroid report that customers can already purchase the Motorola RAZR HD at Telstra and JB Hi-fi locations. The smartphone is available for $720 AUD outright, or on $60 AUD plan with $5 AUD monthly repayment.

Motorola RAZR M will also hit shelves at Telstra sometime in November and will be priced at $600 AUD off-contract. Customers will also be able to grab the RAZR M on a $60 AUD plan without any repayments.

According to Timo Brouwer, Motorola Mobility MD, both Android smartphones will be exclusive to Telstra up until the end of the year.

Even though RAZR HD and RAZR M are powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Motorola confirmed both would receive a Jelly Bean upgrade, though the company did not specify any release dates yet.

When it comes to specs, it appears that the RAZR HD is the better device. The smartphone boasts a large 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display that supports 720 x 1280 pixels resolution.

On the inside, Motorola RAZR HD is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 1GB of RAM and 16GB storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The RAZR M, on the other hand, features a slightly smaller 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED Advanced touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution. The phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, which is complemented by an Adreno 225 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
