Google Now Understands Natural Language for Calculator and Converter Searches

Google has built up a strong arsenal of search tools that are designed to provide answers rather than links. Google Search comes with a built-in calculator, a currency converter, a unit converter and so on.

They're useful, but you have to know about them and how to use them to make the most of it.

Thankfully, Google is working on it and has rolled out a series of updates that will make it easier to use natural language.

Or, rather, it's now using the tools it's made available more widely for more searches. Even convoluted queries for the calculator or the converter are understood.

The Google Operating System shows how queries like [225 cm + 134 mm plus two times 45 cm minus one and a half meter] or [127 euros times 3 - 15 percent in Hungarian money] are decoded by Google Search which provides the right answer in both cases.
