Samsung Galaxy Camera Officially Confirmed for AT&T

Wireless carrier AT&T has officially confirmed the upcoming availability of the Samsung Galaxy Camera on its network in the coming weeks.

The new device runs under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and will provide users not only with great imaging capabilities, but also with support for the wireless carrier’s 4G LTE network.

The device packs a 16MP BSI CMOS sensor that can deliver high-end performance even in low-light conditions and also features 21x optical zoom lens.

Moreover, it arrives on shelves with a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD touchscreen display, and is powered by a quad-core 1 GHz processor.

“It also includes powerful features like Smart Pro Mode technology, which allows you to toggle through a series of pre-set options that simplify the processes for taking professional-level images,” AT&T announced.

The Galaxy Camera will provide users with fast performance even when it comes to enjoying applications available via the Google Play Store.

“Wirelessly enabling Samsung’s Galaxy Camera will create a significant shift in how consumers share and communicate with photos and videos,” said Chris Penrose, senior vice president, AT&T Emerging Devices.

“By posting instantly to social networking sites or sending directly to another device, the person behind the lens is essentially offering family and friends the opportunity to share in the moments as they are actually experiencing them. We’re excited that the AT&T wireless network will help enable these opportunities.”

The new device also comes with AllShare Play technology packed inside, which means that it can connect to Samsung HDTVs, laptops and other devices that are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Courtesy of its Share Shot functionality, users will be able to send still images from the Galaxy Camera to various Samsung handsets, including Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note phones.

No specific info on when the Samsung Galaxy Camera will be released at AT&T has been provided, nor on its price tag, but all should be unveiled in the coming weeks.
