Short Film "The Guilt" Wins YouTube Competition During the Venice Film Festival

For the converts, the ones making videos for the web, YouTube in particular, there's no question about it: YouTube is not the next big thing, it is already the big thing. It's just that the rest of the world hasn't realized it yet.

But it's beginning to, web videos, again YouTube in particular, are starting to gain some respect from traditional filmmakers and film organizations.

A perfect example is Your Film Festival on YouTube, a competition that took place during the Venice Film Festival. The competition had 15,000 entries from which 10 finalists were chosen. Those ten finalists went to Venice for the event.

"The Guilt" by David Victori won the competition, as chosen by a jury with people as famed director Ridley Scott, who has been involved with YouTube projects before, and actor Michael Fassbender.

This being YouTube, you can watch the winning movie, the finalists or any of the 15,000 entries right now.
