PETA Says Goodbye to Michael Clarke Duncan

As you probably know, Michael Clarke Duncan passed away only a couple of days ago, as result of complications having to do with the heart condition he was known to suffer from.

Whereas most people are now talking about the ways in which Duncan made Hollywood history, green-oriented organization PETA wishes to point out that this celebrity was not just a great actor, but also a person highly committed to defending animal rights.

Animal rights activists working with this organization first and foremost remember him playing and cuddling with his chinchilla, whom he used to love dearly.

Truth be told, the mere thought of seeing a man the size of Duncan being so considerate and gentle with an animal as small as a chinchilla is heartwarming to say the least.

For those unaware, Michael Clarke Duncan worked together with PETA at one point, and made a video explaining why he decided to become a vegetarian. In the very same video, he spoke about his love for the animals.

“The best thing about being a vegetarian for me, number one is I know I’m not harming any animals. The number two thing is increased strength. I’m a lot stronger than I was when I was eating meat,” the celebrity explained back in May, 2012.

Also, one poster of him read: “Going vegetarian can prevent – and sometimes reverse – our nation's biggest killers, such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer and strokes. Muscle your way to better health. Go vegetarian.”

Michelle Cho, one of the persons present at the shooting of this video, vividly remembers what it was like to stand close to Duncan, and says that, “He was one of the happiest and most genuine and heartwarming people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.”

Furthermore, “I'm so grateful that he used his deep, soulful voice and contagious smile to encourage people to care about animals.”
