Nokia Lumia 920 on Pre-Order at $512 (395)

Lumia 920, Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 flagship smartphone, is currently listed as available for pre-order in China at $512 (€395).

The handset can be seen on Toaboa’s website, the largest Chinese online shopping destination, which claims that the price is final, welovewp.hk reports.

Nokia hasn’t provided specific info on the price tag of Lumia 920 as of now, or on when the device is set to arrive on shelves.

However, provided that the smartphone will hit the market with this price attached to it, we should expect it to be a fast seller. Rivals iPhone 5 and Galaxy S III go for much more at the moment, namely $899-$1199 (around €700-€930) and $599-$799 (about €460-€620), respectively.

As Nokia Innovation notes, the price for Lumia 920 could not be too far-fetched, at least when compared to other Windows Phone devices from the Finnish handset vendor.

Lumia 800, for example, is available at Amazon US for $319 (around €250) factory unlocked, which is quite a nice deal for users. Lumia 920 is built using the same materials, although it is bigger and more powerful.

However, it should also be noted that Nokia Lumia 920 was spotted a few weeks back on Digitec’s website in Switzerland with a price tag of $793 USD (€610) attached to it, while being seen at Smarty.cz Czech retailer for $807 USD (€620).

One thing that is certain is that Nokia indeed needs to regain some of the market share it has lost in the past several years, and that an aggressive pricing of its Windows Phone 8 devices would help it achieve this goal.

Lumia 920, along with the Lumia 820, should become available for purchase sometime in mid-November, previous reports suggested.

Nokia will make these phones available in a variety of markets around the world, including the United States and China (where Lumia 920 will be a China Mobile exclusive), via multiple wireless carriers.
