Baidu Goes Google, Releases Android Browser, Claims to Be the Fastest

Baidu is known for its search engine, well, known to those that keep an eye on the Chinese internet, but the company is branching out.

Much like Google in its heyday, Baidu wants to become the center of your internet life and, again much like Google, it's using an array of products to do it including a brand new mobile browser.

Granted, there's no shortage of Android browsers, all of them claiming the title of fastest, most standards compliant and so on.

Baidu's browser, is no exception, the company claims that it's the fastest out there and it boasts great support for HTML5 features. There's an English version of the browser, supposedly, but good luck finding it or switching languages if you don't already know Chinese.

What's interesting is that the browser is running its own HTML engine, apparently, T5 which accounts for both its speed and the wide support for HTML5 features. You can grab it here.
