Star Treks Worf Reveals Castlevania Movie

Michael Dorn, the actor best known for playing Worf in Star Trek: The Next Generation, has revealed that a Castlevania-themed movie is currently shooting and that he is playing one of the main supporting roles.

Speaking to Startrek.com the actor stated, “People have been trying to get this thing done for a long time and they finally got the producers together that want to do it. They finally got the OK from the owners, and so they’re doing it.”

He added, “It’s a fun little part. It’s four days, and I’m playing a werewolf that’s been around for a gajillion years who works for this vampire. It’s not too far from Worf because there’s a lot of killing and jumping and sword fights and everything.”

Dorn also revealed that he was a fan of the Castlevania franchise after he was introduced to it by fellow The Next Generation cast member Marina Sirtis, who played Deanna Troy.

In 2006 Konami announced that it was working on a Castlevania movie that was set to be directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who is best known for working on the Resident Evil and the Dead or Alive movies that were also based on video game franchises.

The movie was set to have a 50 million dollars (3.81 million Euro) budget, but it quickly hit a number of problems.

Directing duties were taken over by Sylvain White and, after the Hollywood writer strike, the project was announced to be canceled during 2009.

It’s not clear what story the new Castlevania movie will tell.

At the moment, Konami is planning to launch Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, a game that’s developed by MercurySteam and overseen by Kojima Productions.

The game will control Gabriel Belmont as he battles hordes of undead enemies using a whip and his Combat Cross.

Konami wants to attract new players to the franchise, while also keeping long-term fans happy.
