Sony Xperia Acro S Now Available in the US for $650 USD (500 EUR)

Unveiled back in May, Sony Xperia acro S has finally made it to the US. The unlocked version of the smartphone is now available for purchase at all official Sony brick and mortar stores across the country, as well as online.

However, Android fans will have to come up with no less than $650 USD (500 EUR) upfront in order to grab the Xperia acro S. Check it out here.

Sony Xperia acro S was spotted at FCC back in July, but the Japanese company took some time to launch the smartphone in the United States.

Although, the Xperia acro S comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box, we hope Sony will be able to offer a Jelly Bean upgrade by the end of the year.

The most interesting trait of the Xperia acro S is the fact that it's IP57 certified, which means it's dust and water resistant. According to Sony, the smartphone is water proof up to 1 meter and 30 minutes.

Another selling point of the Sony Xperia acro S is the impressive 12-megapixel rear photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There's also a secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

On the inside, the smartphone is equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, accompanied by an Adreno 220 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The device offers plenty of storage (16GB, 11GB user available), but users also have the possibility to further expand the internal memory up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Furthermore, the Xperia acro S boasts a stunning 4.3-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. The phone's screen features Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology and scratch-resistant shatter proof glass.
