Official GeForce GTX 660 Launch Date Changed

Californian GPU design company Nvidia has apparently moved the launch date of the GTX 660 and the GK106 GPU a little bit later. We’re used to do important things on Mondays, but Nvidia seems to have different habits.

The launch was reportedly pushed back by only a single day and thus it will fall in the company’s tradition of launching products on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

The new GK106 GPU is based on the same popular and capable Kepler architecture and, in this implementation, it has 960 CUDA cores with 80 texture mapping units (TMU) and 24 raster operating units (ROP).

We reported here on the official transistor count and the first GK106 presentation slide from Nvidia and if you’re searching for the fastest implementation of this GPU, you’ll probably be surprised to find out it’s a professional card as we reported here.
