Kellan Lutz Trash Talks Twilight: It Doesnt Make Sense

“The Twilight Saga” is perhaps the most successful vampire franchise of all times but that’s not stopping one of its stars from trash talking it: Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen.

In a new interview with Document Journal, Lutz reveals severe apprehensions before he started work on the first installment in the 5-film series: it sounded like a really bad idea, he says.

“I didn’t like the script,” he says of Melissa Rosenberg’s work on Stephenie Meyer’s original novel.

“How scary would a glimmering vampire really be? It just doesn’t make sense,” Lutz adds with what the magazine describes as “a twinkle in his eyes.”

It’s not so much that Lutz bad-mouthed the “Twilight” script and Meyer’s idea of a modern vampire that bothers, fans point out online but rather that, in doing so, he displays zero knowledge of the latter.

Meyer’s vampires are scary and dangerous precisely because they’re so perfect-looking, sublimely beautiful (which also includes the fact that they sparkle in the sun), because that’s what they use to lure humans into a false sense of security, right before they attack.
