IPFire 2.11 Core 62 Fixes Outgoing Firewall

Michael Tremer, developer for the ipfire.org team, has announced IPFire 2.11 Core 62, a new stable release of the popular Linux-based firewall distribution.

Unlike previous versions of IPFire, which brough substantial changes and updates, this latest release, IPFire 2.11 Core 62, only brings a few changes and one major fix: outgoing firewall permits hosts on BLUE to access the Internet.

Highlights of IPFire 2.11 Core 62:

• The connection overview on the web user interface now shows return paths;
• PHP has been updated to version 5.3.16;
• IPFire comes now with a script which allows users to create VLAN interfaces for GREEN, BLUE and/or ORANGE;
• Databases for GeoIP, USB modeswitch, and PCI/USB devices have been updated.

A complete list of modifications can be found in the official announcement.
