FIFA versus PES Rivalry Is Welcomed by EA

Electronic Arts’ Chief Operating Officer, Peter Moore, has revealed that he’s thrilled with competition for the company’s FIFA series from Konami’s PES franchise, as it benefits both gamers as well as the two publishers.

The soccer (football) simulator genre has been ruled in recent years by EA’s FIFA and Konami’s PES franchises. After a period of domination for PES, EA is currently breaking records with its FIFA installments.

Now, after PES 2013's release this week and ahead of FIFA 13's launch next week, EA's Peter Moore has talked about the rivalry and revealed that EA "always welcomes competition from Konami."

"Pro Evo has been a favorite game for a number of years but I think people recognize FIFA has been a powerful force and we've raised the quality of what soccer games are in the entertainment business," he told CVG.

FIFA 13 is set to once again break sales records so it's going to be interesting to see how it performs against PES 2013 next week.
