Download Microsofts Patches for Internet Explorer 10 Flash Player Bug

In addition to the Internet Explorer 9 patch released a few hours ago, Microsoft also rolled out a separate fix that’s aimed at Internet Explorer 10 users.

This one fixes the recently-discovered Flash Player bug that could allow attackers to execute malicious codes on the vulnerable computers.

It was initially believed that Microsoft will wait until the official debut of Windows 8 on October 25 to release a patch, but following intense criticism from many online communities, the company decided to address the issue a lot sooner.

Microsoft thus released three different patch versions targeting the discovered flaw on Windows 8 for 32-bit systems, Windows 8 for 64-bit Systems and Windows Server 2012.

As always, users are recommended to install the security updates as soon as possible, with the downloads available for free via the official Microsoft download center.

"We recognize there has been some discussion about our update process as it relates to Adobe Flash Player," Yunsun Wee, director, Microsoft Trustworthy Computing, said in a blog post.

"Microsoft is committed to taking the appropriate actions to help protect our customers and we are working closely with Adobe to deliver quality protections that are aligned with Adobe’s update process."

Internet Explorer 10 is exclusively available to Windows 8 users and it comes with an integrated version of Adobe's Flash Player. This means that Adobe is no longer responsible for the security flaws discovered in Internet Explorer, but it will work together with Microsoft to patch any security flaw as soon as possible.

IE 10, on the other hand, wasn’t affected by the security flaw found in Internet Explorer 9 and older versions, but you can read more about this one by clicking on this link.
