The other day, Chris Brown was photographed showing off his latest ink, a piece on the side of his neck representing what many assumed to be a battered woman or, more likely, a battered Rihanna. Chris has denied this through his rep.
The first photo included with this article is of Chris and his new tattoo. At first glance, the piece might bear somewhat of a similarity with this, the photo of Rihanna after the 2009 vicious beating she suffered at his hands.
As it happens, word of the latest controversy got back to Chris – and his rep immediately went in damage control mode.
All this talk is for nothing because that tattoo has nothing to do with Rihanna or any other woman who might have suffered domestic abuse in her life, he says in a statement to TMZ.
“His tattoo is a sugar skull (associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead) and a MAC cosmetics design he saw,” the rep says.

Chris is taking a stand as well, but on a less official channel.
“I’m an artist and this is art. Dia de los Muertos,” Chris tweeted.
The second photo attached to this article is of the skull in question: there can be no doubt as to the similarity between it and the tattoo.
Even so, many are not convinced and, because they can, are voicing their concern online. The fact that Rihanna went to Chris at the MTV VMAs 2012, hugged and kissed him in front of everybody, only adds to the concern.
