On "Space Day" Street View Hits the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)

Japan is celebrating "Space Day" today and, to mark the occasion, Google is releasing a batch of new Street View imagery for two scientific locations in Japan, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan).

"With panoramic imagery in and around these locations now available via the Street View feature of Google Maps, space enthusiasts around the world have a more complete and accurate sense of what it’d be like to virtually swap places with an astronaut," Google's Setsuto Murai writes.

This is hardly the first time Google went to a scientific location to shoot some Street View images, it's not even the first time it went to one dedicated to space exploration.

Recently, it unveiled a big number of photos from the Kennedy Space Center, including plenty of the shuttle during its last days.
